We are seeking a skilled Oracle Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Oracle database administration, performance optimization, data management, and security management. This role involves managing and optimizing Oracle databases, ensuring data integrity and security, and providing technical support. The Oracle Engineer will also facilitate system integration, support project implementations, and contribute to automation, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.

Database Administration:
• Installation and Configuration: Install and configure Oracle databases, set up instances, create schemas, and configure network settings.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including applying patches, conducting upgrades, and managing database backups and recovery processes.
• Monitoring: Monitor database performance and health using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager. Address issues related to database availability, performance, and capacity.

Performance Optimization:
• Tuning: Optimize database performance by analyzing and tuning SQL queries, indexing strategies, and database configurations.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues affecting database operations. Utilize performance monitoring tools and logs for diagnostics.
Data Management:
• Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity and consistency within the database. Implement and manage constraints, triggers, and other data validation mechanisms.
• Data Backup and Recovery: Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect against data loss. Regularly test and verify recovery procedures to ensure data can be restored as needed.
Security Management:
• User Management: Manage database user accounts and permissions to ensure appropriate access controls and data security.
• Data Security: Implement and enforce database security measures, including encryption, auditing, and compliance with data protection regulations.
System Integration:
• Integration: Facilitate the integration of Oracle databases with other systems and applications, such as Student Information Systems and Learning Management Systems.
• Data Exchange: Manage data exchange processes between systems to ensure accurate and consistent data flow.
Technical Support:
• Issue Resolution: Provide technical support for database-related issues reported by users or other IT teams. Troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Documentation: Document database configurations, procedures, and issues. Maintain detailed records to support troubleshooting and future reference.
Project Involvement:
• Implementation: Participate in projects involving database upgrades, migrations, and new implementations. Assist in planning, testing, and deploying changes.
• Collaboration: Work with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that database solutions align with project requirements and institutional goals.
Automation and Scripting:
• Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts for database administration tasks, such as automating backups, monitoring, and routine maintenance.
• Automation: Implement automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention in database management tasks.
Compliance and Best Practices:
• Compliance: Ensure that database management practices comply with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Best Practices: Follow and promote best practices for database administration, performance tuning, and security.
Training and Development:
• Training: Provide training and support to other team members and end-users on database-related topics and best practices.
• Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest Oracle technologies and industry trends. Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development.

• Innovation: Propose and implement new technologies or methodologies to improve database functionality and performance.
